It’s a great honour and privilege to have represented the people of Dunstan, formerly known as Norwood, since 2010. I’ve lived my entire adult life in this electorate which is full of culturally diversity and community spirit.
Every week I’m out and about meeting with residents and community groups and listening to what they have to say. Here’s what I’ve recently been up to:
When I've been out doorknocking over the past few weeks, residents have continuously raised their concerns about the lack of jobs here in South Australia.
With the weather putting on a show over the last few weeks, I've made the most of it by heading out across the electorate to supermarkets, knocking on doors and I also held a street corner meeting for Rose Park and Dulwich residents.
I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and managed to spend time with family and friends. I was fortunate to spend some quality time with my children, Charlie and Georgie, before Georgie headed overseas for the year.
During November I held several street corner meetings, and knocked on a number of doors throughout many pockets of our electorate to hear about the issues that matter to you.
This month I've been making the most of the spring weather by getting out and about doorknocking and speaking to residents at our local supermarkets, as well as hosting several local street corner meetings. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to stop and speak with me about issues that concern you.
You may have recently picked up the phone and spoken to me or one of my volunteers. We have been phoning residents across the electorate to discuss important local issues and give people a chance to raise any matters they would like my assistance with. Cost of living pressures and the rising electricty prices are issues that are constantly being raised with me. If you have any issues you would like to discuss, then please feel free to get in touch.
As I continue my regular efforts to meet as many local people as possible, you may have seen me out doorknocking in Felixstow or at your local supermarket in Marden and The Avenues.
I have been busy meeting with residents, businesses and community organisations across my electorate of Dunstan. Overwhelmingly, the main issues raised with me are the rising cost of living for families and the burden on small business.
This month I was delighted to present cheques to both the Salvation Army and Operation Flinders, in support of their vital work in our community. The funds were raised from my annual Austerity Night. I would again like to take this opportunity to thank all who came, shared in a hot cup of soup and donated to these excellent causes.
I was pleased to hold an evening of 'Politics in the Pub' during the month of May. It was an excellent opportunity to discuss a range of issues faced by local residents. I look forward to more opportunities to talk with you into the future.
